Welcome
Manohar ji opened the call thanking each and every attendee and set the scene saying that this is a very exciting phase of NOBA UK as we are about to provide a formal shape to our beloved group. This formality is required to achieve a bigger objective of strengthening our bonds even further and plan some more creative activities including some charitable deeds to help others.
NOBA UK Constitution
On the instruction of Manohar ji, Om Prakash Choudhary reiterated the agenda and presented the main points of NOBA UK constitution. After a detailed discussion, the constitution was accepted by everyone with the following amendments:
Members leaving UK permanently should inform officers so that their membership can be discontinued
Members leaving UK temporarily (up to 2 years) will continue to be a member as long as the membership fee is being paid
All other exceptional cases will be dealt by committee and their decision will be final regarding the membership
Election of Officers
Manohar ji initiated the election of officers by proposing Kaladhar ji’s name as Chair. Kameshwar ji and Arun ji seconded the proposal. Kaladhar ji’s name as Chair is accepted by all.
Om Prakash Choudhary proposed the name of Manohar ji as Secretary which was seconded by Kameshwar ji and Arunji. Manohar ji’s name as Secretary is accepted by all.
Manohar ji proposed the name of Vibhash as Treasurer which was seconded by Om Prakash Choudhary. Vibhash’s name as Treasurer is accepted by all.
Nomination of Committee members
Chair and Secretary will automatically be the committee members.
Manohar ji proposed the names of Kameshwar ji, Krishna Chandra Pandey ji, Arun Jha ji, Sami, Anuj, Vivekanand and Sanjay. Anuj proposed the names of Ghanshyam and Om Prakash Choudhary. All these names are accepted by all.
Bank Signatories
Treasurer is by default one signatory and the other signatory’s name was proposed by Manohar ji for Rakesh Ravi which was seconded by Om Prakash Choudhary and accepted by all.
Treasurer and the other bank signatory were advised to initiate the proceeding of opening a bank account for NOBA UK.
Membership Fee
Manohar ji proposed a minimum annual membership fee of £60 that can be paid either annually in advance or by equal instalments. Members are free to contribute more than the minimum fee. After much deliberations on why such a low membership fee, all participants accepted that we must start with the proposed minimum membership fee and this figure can be revisited in the future.
Date of next Annual General Meeting and General Meet
Manohar ji proposed the idea of 2-day meet (arrival on Friday, 31st Aug and departure on Sun, 2nd Sep). Whilst participants were encouraged by this proposal, Om Prakash Choudhary was instructed to formally write emails to all members and then the decision will be made whether we should proceed with 2-day meet or just 1-day meet (arrival on Sat, 1st Sep and departure on Sun, 2nd Sep). If the final decision is to proceed with 2-day, we must plan in such a way that everyone including spouses and children are well engaged. Om Prakash Choudhary shared his thoughts on showcasing the hidden talents of our spouses and children on such occasions.
Website Introduction
Om Prakash Choudhary briefly explained all members about the available features and the thought processes that have gone behind while building the website (https://www.nobauk.org). There was a specific stress on the contents of the website and how important is it to keep adding new contents to engage with all NOBA-UK members and their family members. Apart from Enrolment, members directory and Who We Are, it was decided to keep improving the site contents of ‘Reference’ and ‘Creative Hub’ pages. The hidden talents and ongoing successes of NOBA members, their spouses and their children must be shared through these pages. These pages will also act as catalysts to our intellectual thoughts.
Any Other Business
Om Prakash Choudhary requested all to engage with all other NOBA who live in UK, but not yet engaged. Sami Haider and Anuj have taken actions to engage with Rajeev, Abhishek and others.
Manohar ji thanked all attendees for participating in this call and the meeting was concluded.
Looks perfect to me !
