Topics for discussion:
An urgent online meeting was called to support Sanjay 97, Glasgow who had an unusual and
traumatic experience on 8th July 2020.
Detail Discussions:
Sanjay gave us a detailed description of what happened and how his family was in shock and fear for the last few days. The relevant authorities are on the job and he is quite hopeful the culprit will be found out soon. It was sheer luck that there was no carpet in the affected area otherwise a devastating fire could have broken out.
To our great relief, he confirmed that the family is gradually recovering from the initial shock. Additional safety measures have already been taken.
We reiterated our collective resolve to be always available for any kind of support he or any member of our group may need at anytime, although we pray this need may never arise.
Sami narrated various similar incidents and government support measures that may be available under such circumstances.
Sanjay 97 also asked for advice as to ways he could recover about Rs 2 lacs he had paid to Jet Airways through a Travel website in April 2019, just a day before the airlines went bust.
Opening of lockers in Metro Bank was also advised if required, as criminals selectively target Asian families who are known for keeping gold in their homes.
We will now meet again online on the same 8x8 platform in two weeks on 25 July instead of the18th of July as originally scheduled.
